5 Physical Characteristics that Indicate Anxiety Disorders


Each type of anxiety disorder has unique symptoms. Anxiety disorders are usually easy to know when you are afraid of an object or an event that is not really threatening, but suddenly becomes extreme and out of control.

Signs and symptoms of anxiety disorder that are seen physically

1. Muscle tension
One symptom of anxiety disorder that can be seen physically is the appearance of pain throughout the body. Pain that is felt starting from migraine to pain in joints.


This will be seen clearly when the patient unconsciously gnaws or presses the jaw, clenches his fingers, or shows poor body position. These things are thought to be the cause of muscle tension in people with anxiety disorders.

2. Pimples appear

Social phobia is an anxiety disorder that makes someone anti-socializing, for example being reluctant to talk on the phone or chat with other people at an event. People with social phobias will continue to try to avoid the crowd and choose to be alone. Or if sufferers make it through difficult times in interaction, they tend to think about it and ask questions about other people's evaluations of it.

People who experience social phobia usually show symptoms of anxiety disorders physically and are easily recognized. These physical symptoms include increased heart rate, sweating, nausea, stuttering and trembling hands.

How do you diagnose anxiety disorders?
If you feel you are starting to show one or more of the symptoms of anxiety disorders above, immediately consult your doctor. Your doctor may conduct a physical examination and laboratory tests to confirm the diagnosis, whether you really have a particular anxiety disorder or other health problems.

If you don't show symptoms of other health problems, your doctor will likely refer you directly to a psychiatrist or psychologist for diagnosis and treatment of your mental health problems.
